How to benchmark your brand against the market

Use Benchmark your rates to pick your brand and car type, then read your gap to the market, your rank and who undercuts you, day by day.

Open an airport, go to Benchmark your rates, and choose your brand under Your brand and a car type under Car type. You see your typical daily rate against the market, how many days you're above it, and which competitors are cheaper most often. A day-by-day table and a table of every competitor sit underneath.

  1. Open your airport

Leave your email first if you haven't. See opening the dashboards.

  2. Pick your brand

Use the Your brand list. Before you pick, the table shows every brand's typical daily rate by car type.

  3. Pick a car type

Use Car type. If your brand doesn't offer that type, the page tells you and you can try another.

  4. Read the summary

Your typical rate and the gap to market, days above market, days cheapest, and who's most often cheaper.

  5. Read Day by day

One row per pick-up day: You, Market typical, Cheapest competitor and Your rank (1 = cheapest).

  6. Read You against each competitor

Their typical per day, You vs them, how many days they were cheaper than you, and their rating.

A worked example

At Madrid Barajas in the Rate Pulse sweep of 7 Nov 2026, Sixt and compact gave this summary:

  • typical rate €36 a day, +18% on the market's €31
  • above the market typical on 12 of 13 pick-up days, and the cheapest brand on 0
  • most often cheaper: OK Mobility (13 days), Centauro (13 days), Europcar (12 days)

In Day by day, Mon 9 Nov reads "not offered", which is why it's 12 of 13, not 14. On Mon 16 Nov, Sixt was €30 against a €31 market, ranked 3 of 8.

In You against each competitor, a + in You vs them means you're dearer than that brand.

Tips

  • The page address keeps your brand and car type, so bookmark it or send it to a colleague.
  • Brands with fewer than 10 offers are left out of the typical rate table.
  • These are medians of advertised prices for a 3-day hire. Check extras, deposits and fuel policy before you match a price.
  • Not listed? Your brand may not sell through rentalcars.com at that airport. Read market rates and compare by hand.
