Report a problem: driver off sick or vehicle off the road
A driver rings in sick or a van breaks down. DayRunner shows what it touches and the best fixes in seconds, before anything changes.
Click Report a problem, then Driver off sick or Vehicle off the road, and pick who or which. DayRunner shows every run it touches, the guests at risk and the best fixes in seconds. Nothing changes until you click Apply, and nothing is sent.
When you'll see the button
Report a problem sits next to Re-plan the day once the day has a plan with allocations. You need to be an owner or coordinator. It isn't there in charter mode.
Steps
Report it
Click Report a problem, then Driver off sick or Vehicle off the road.
Pick who or which
Each driver or vehicle shows how many runs it has.
Read the impact
Every run it held, the guests at risk, and why each run is hard to cover.
Apply a fix
Compare Best fix and Option 2, then click Apply on the one you want.
Reading the result
- Each run shows one line on why it's hard to cover. Open Who could cover, or Which vehicle could take it, to see every option and why it can or can't.
- Best fix and Option 2 each start with the outcome, for example "Covers the 06:45 Milford · no new problems · guest messages unchanged". Open Show details for the knock-ons.
- Some fixes need someone to change their day. You'll be asked if they've agreed first. Ring them before you click OK.
What Apply does
For a driver off sick, it marks them unavailable for the day. It shows in Setup, under Availability exceptions, as off sick.
For a vehicle off the road, it sets the vehicle to out. Set it back to ok in Setup when it's fixed.
Then, either way, it:
- sets the covering runs by hand and locks them,
- re-plans the day,
- tells you how many guest messages changed. Those come back to draft for you to check.
Nothing is sent. Approve and send the changed messages as usual, and re-draft driver briefs on the Run sheet.
No fix?
"No fix on the roster covers this" means nobody available can legally do it. Call a casual, add them in Setup with the skill casual, then set the run by hand with Change in the Allocation table.
For a vehicle, "No other vehicle covers this" means you'll need to hire one. Add it in Setup, then set the run by hand.
Undoing it
Remove the off sick row in Availability exceptions, or set the vehicle back to ok. Click Unlock on the run in the Allocation table and re-plan.
