Tour and shuttle operations software in New Zealand: 2026 pricing and features compared

Booking systems, ops add-ons, shuttle dispatch tools and DayRunner, side by side. Public prices only, converted to NZ$, every number linked.

By the DayRunner team ·

If you run tours or shuttles in New Zealand, your software bill usually has two parts. A booking system that takes the sale, and something for the day itself: who drives, which vehicle, which pickups. This page lays out what each kind of tool costs in 2026, in NZ dollars, from public price pages.

Methodology and author

Written by Duncan Crawford, DayRunner. We're a vendor and DayRunner is in the table. We've tried to be fair: we only list what each vendor's public pages say, we link every price, and where we couldn't confirm something we say so.

How we built it:

  • Public prices only. We read each vendor's pricing page. We didn't sign up, ask for quotes or talk to sales teams.
  • Dates. The comparison was gathered 18 to 20 Oct 2026. We re-read the Rezdy, Bókun, ShuttleControl and Automate.travel pricing pages on 20 Oct 2026.
  • "Not public" means the vendor doesn't publish a price. "Third-party estimate" means the figure comes from a review site, not the vendor.
  • NZ$ conversions use rounded working rates as at 18 Oct 2026: EUR 1 = NZ$2.00, USD 1 = NZ$1.78, AUD 1 = NZ$1.24. Converted figures are approximate. Check current rates with the Reserve Bank.
  • GST. Overseas prices are shown as listed. DayRunner prices are NZ$ plus GST, with the GST-inclusive figure alongside.
  • Left out: card fees, OTA commissions, SMS costs and GPS hardware. They vary too much by operator to list fairly.
  • Monthly, not annual. Where a vendor bills by year or per booking, we've worked out a monthly figure and shown how.

Prices change. If you spot one that's out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.

Onfleet and Routific are built for parcel delivery, not guests. They're here because some shuttle operators look at them.

Read from each vendor's public pages, 20 Oct 2026. "Not shown" means we couldn't find it on their public pages, not that the tool can't do it.

DayRunner reads bookings from Rezdy, FareHarbor and Rental Car Manager, or a CSV from anything else. It doesn't take bookings, so most operators keep their booking system and add it. See integrations.

Monthly cost by fleet size

Ops tools price in three different ways: by vehicle, by booking, or by fleet-size plan. This table works out a month for five example operators, so you can compare them on one line. Find the row closest to your fleet and your bookings.

Your fleetBookings a monthDayRunner (plus GST)ShuttleControl (billed annually)Automate.travel
3 vehicles150NZ$349about NZ$256about NZ$450
5 vehicles260NZ$349about NZ$427about NZ$774

15 vehicles800NZ$799about NZ$1,282about NZ$1,940
20 vehicles1,100NZ$799about NZ$1,709about NZ$2,480

How we worked it out:

  • DayRunner: the plan for the fleet size, from our pricing. Bookings don't change the price. Add 15% GST.
  • ShuttleControl: vehicles × US$48 (the annual-billing rate on its pricing page) × 1.78. Monthly billing costs more, at US$60 for each vehicle after the first.
  • Automate.travel: bookings a month × 12, priced through its published tiers (€1.50, 1.20, 0.90, 0.75 and 0.55), divided by 12, × 2.00. Vehicles don't change the price.
  • Bookings a month are example inputs, not survey data. Swap in your own: a booking is one order, however many guests.
  • PaxFlow and Wayop aren't in the table because their prices aren't public.

None of these replace your booking system. Add your Rezdy, Bókun or FareHarbor costs from the table above.

Glossary

  • Booking system: software that takes the sale. Online checkout, availability, payments and agent or OTA channels. Rezdy, Bókun and FareHarbor are booking systems.
  • Day-of operations: the work between the booking and the trip. Who drives, which vehicle, the pickup order, and the messages to guests, suppliers and drivers. More in what day-of operations software is.
  • Ops add-on: a tool that sits on top of a booking system and handles part of day-of operations.
  • Dispatch: sending vehicles and drivers out on the day, often with live tracking and route changes.
  • Resource allocation: putting bookings onto a vehicle, guide or piece of equipment so you don't oversell it.
  • Per-booking fee: a charge on each booking, either a percentage of its value or a flat amount. Some booking systems let you pass it to the guest.
  • Annual billing: paying for 12 months up front, usually at a lower monthly rate.
  • Plus GST: a price before New Zealand's 15% goods and services tax. GST-registered operators usually claim it back.
  • Work time: the time a driver spends on driving and other work, which NZ rules cap per day. See work time rules.
