Set a base town and product routes, and the Day page shows the forecast, holidays, NZTA road events and MetService warnings for the day.
Set your Base town in Setup, and give each product its Routes and areas. The Day page then shows the forecast, public and school holidays, NZTA road events and MetService warnings for the day you're planning. Click Add to alerts on any of them to put it in the plan.
Owners only.
Go to Setup, then Your operation.
Choose the town your runs leave from under Base town.
Click Save. The Day page shows the conditions strip from now on.
The towns are Queenstown, Te Anau, Wānaka, Christchurch, Kaikōura, Rotorua, Taupō, Auckland, Wellington, Nelson, Napier, Franz Josef, Dunedin and Paihia.
No base town set? The Day page shows one line pointing you to Setup.
It's a daily forecast for one point, so it can miss a short, heavy burst. Check MetService for warnings too.
In Setup, under Products, fill in Routes and areas (comma) for each product and save the row. Use state highways and named roads or areas, for example SH94, SH6, Fiordland or Glenorchy-Queenstown Road.
The Day page then lists Road and weather warnings: NZ Transport Agency road events and MetService severe weather warnings on those routes, or near your base town, on the plan date. Click one to read the detail and a link to the source. The source and licence are credited under the list.
If nothing touches your routes, the list doesn't show. NZTA only lists notable events, so no list doesn't always mean a clear road.
Click Add to alerts on any chip or warning. It adds one sentence to External alerts for the day. Then click Re-plan the day.
The alert shows on your Decide before the day list, with options to adjust departure times, brief drivers or hold guest messages. Its first sentence goes into guest messages, so read them before you approve. Edit or delete the sentence in the box any time.

Matching is by highway, so a long highway can bring in a stretch you don't drive. List named areas instead of the whole highway to tighten it.
